Both of Us||Malia:Drew

andrewsyrius:

Drew laughed when he saw her blush and kissed her hot cheeks. “How about I play?” He said as he pulled out of her arms relucantly. “We can cuddle once I’m done.” He gave a wide smile and kissed her forehead. He wished he could stay in her arms forever, or just for a bit more. He missed that the most. He grabbed his guitar sitting next to Malia and set it on his lap. It had been so long since he has played this little thing. He missed the harmonizing sound of the strings and the feeling of freedom. He struck the strings and winced at the out of tune notes. It’s really been awhile since he’s played this. He started tuning his guitar to his mental A and after a couple twists of the pegs and knobs, he played it again. He grinned. It sounded much better than before. Almost perfectly in tune. With a wide smile, he started to play his favorite piece and one he knows by heart. He took a deep breath and started.

“…If I can be your superman, I’ll fly you to the stars and back again…” He sang, while rocking back and forth slowly.

Something about singing, which he loved, was the ability to take him to another world. To take him to a place much farther than this reality. Music did that to him. He felt alone, and free. He felt like..himself. Something he could only be around a handful of people. He looked toward Malia as he finished his song for some sort of approval or a smile or a nod. He knew she loved when he sang, especially this song. She was his biggest, and umber one fan, and he knew..that would never change. He gave a sheepish smile as he laid his chin on his guitar.

She gave his knee a gentle squeeze as he kissed her cheek, the feeling of his lips soft and sending a chill up her spine. “Alright.” she muttered in his ear, and she secretly hoped he got a little chill too, from her breath on his neck. Reluctantly, she let him move out from between her fingers and go to his guitar. His every move was watched closely by her, as if missing a single stretch of his arm would make him disappear again- like he was some vision her loneliness produced.. And even when he was close, she wanted more. His hands were on his guitar, tuning it, holding it as carefully as he had held her, while hers were on his knees: just a touch, the edge of her fingers resting there, but she needed the contact, she craved it.

The thing that she loved about Drew was that he was always surprising her. Even when he sang, which she had seen and heard him do countless times, she felt excited, energized- it was new, she was seeing new shades of him every moment, after all this time. She knew him perfectly, or she barely knew him- and maybe she never would. But she was okay with that because she loved him and loved discovering new things about him. And after this month apart, there was so much more to see. She made a mental note to ask him to describe, in detail, his trips all over the country. She wanted to relive it with him; she was excited for it, like she was going on a vacation with him.

The song ended, and she gave him the warm smile she always did when he ended a song. Now for some reason she had the sudden urge to draw him, as he was, so she tried to take a picture of it in her mind’s eyes. She leaned closer to him and kissed him on the cheek, then moved her lips over to his lips. She continued to kiss him, gently moving his guitar out of his hands, and less than a minute after the last note had been played, they were laying in the sand together, lips still locked.

“Alright, whatever you want.” He kissed her softly on the lips. He ran his hand through her hair and twirled it around his finger. “I love you.” Those three words could mean so much to a person, saying them and actually meaning them. They meant so much to him. It was something..real to him and meaningful, something he’s been depreived of for a couple years of his life.  He let go of Malia’s hand and instead wrapped his arm around Malia, keeping him close to him and the other hand, he used to tangle in her hair. He kissed her once again and let it linger for a few moments then pulled away. “Do you wanna stay like this for awhile? I brought my guitar if we get bored,” he said, motioning to the instrument with his eyes. To be honest, Drew would love to stay like this forever. Tangled in each other’s arms with a conent feeling over him. It would be a dream if he could stay in this position, with Malia.. forever.

He remembered when he first met her. He didn’t even think this would be possible. His personality and his cold wall, prevented him from getting anywhere near anyone. He hated close relationships, and tried to stay away from them as long as possible. Though, he’s come to like this better; Being with someone rather than being lonely. He realized ever since his parents death, he’s grown to accept his loneliness, and repelled everyone who wasn’t a strict introvert like himself. Since meeting Malia, he’s realized many things about himself: the good and the bad.  He kissed her neck softly and left a trail of kisses up to her mouth. He pressed his lips against hers a couple times before settling his forehead against hers again.

She nodded and rested her head on his shoulder, staring out into the water and sighing contentedly. She enjoyed the ever-comfortable silence between the two, it was far better than the silence she had lived with this past month. She stayed there, lifting her head every so often to kiss him on the cheek. “I love you, too..” she murmured, and it felt good to say that to him again. She had said it every night, when she was praying to the gods that he would be okay and come home soon, but this was the first time in a long time that he was here, in front of her, while she said it.

In the time that he had been gone she had retreated so far into herself that she barely spoke to anyone. She had simply no desire to. And even she knew it wasn’t smart to put all her happiness into a boy, or any one person, but she couldn’t help it. He seemed to be the only person that really knew her anymore, because he had been there in the low part of her young life. He saw her break, and he was there as she pulled herself back together as best she could. And she honestly believed he knew some parts of her better than she did herself. So when he was gone, she couldn’t help but feel like a piece was missing when he was gone. At least for the time being, he would have to be with her for her to feel whole. Not that she minded.

“Can we stay here a bit? I missed this the most, really..” And she had, because this was something special to them and them alone. Her eyes flickered over to his guitar. “You want to play?” She asked, but she fell silent as she felt his lips on her neck. When they looked at each other again, her cheeks were flushed.

andrewsyrius:

“Caine and Emi? I suppose I should go meet them, but y’know how I am with introductions. I’m not exactly the friendliest person…” He let his voice trail off with that statement. Malia, more than anyone, should know how much he’s changed since they first met. In the beginning, he was quite distant, unsocial, and had a cold, outward appearance, but as time at camp went on, he’s become a bit more social, and maybe his outward appearance isn’t as cold as it used to be. Though, his introductions were still a bit rough from him, as he has learned from this past quest. He squeezed her hand and leaned his forehead against hers. She was beautiful. Which he supposed should be expected from a daughter of Aphrodite, but  beautiful didn’t seem like the right word to describe her. She was something more than that to him. Something, much more. He closed his eyes and kissed her forehead gentle.

“The quest? It was…interesting,” He said with a deep sigh. interesting was one of the few adjectives that could describe this quest. He felt like it was all over the map, and had a bit of everything thrown into it. “It had a bit of everything in it,” he repeated his thought aloud. “Monsters, random…people, gods, goddesses…Everything.” He gave a small chuckle as he turned up toward the sky. “The quest was to bring a lost item back to the gods. Apparently, it was my mother’s and she hid it somewhere in the US. You won’t believe how many places Chris and I traveled…which reminds me, I have something for you back in my cabin. We can grab it later, if you wish, or I can bring it next time I see you.” The item he got for her, Chris helped him pick it out. He remembered exactly how the conversation between them went, and the disgusted look on Chris’ face with the cheesiness of the idea. ‘Ew, Andrew, I never knew you had such a big heart’ were Christopher’s exact words. He laughed at the memory and he turned back to Malia. “Though, I’m glad.. that here was okay, excluding the snow.”

“I think you’ll like them.” she said quietly, “And you’re plenty friendly.” She knew that compared to the kid she had met almost a year ago, he was perfectly capable of making friends with new campers. In fact, she wanted him to, as long as they could spend most of their time together for at least the first week. She still couldn’t gather it into words just how much she had missed him, and the thought of being apart from him was gut-wrenching at the moment. She had to be near him, see him, hold him or be held by him for the time being, almost for a confirmation that he was actually here and wouldn’t go away any time soon. She squeezed his hand back and locked her eyes with his as they pressed their foreheads together. She closed her eyes as he kissed her forehead then kissed him on the lips when he pulled away; she didn’t open her eyes because she could find his lips without even needing to look anymore.

She pressed herself against him, their arms around each other and their knees touching. As he spoke she pushed her shoes off and dug her feet into the sand. Her eyebrows knit in concern as he mentioned his mother, more of a natural reaction than anything else. Even if she knew Hecate was locked away for the rest of their lives, she still felt a twinge of leftover fear whenever she entered her thoughts. But she pushed it away as she heard him continue. “Really, you got me a gift?” she grinned again, pleasantly surprised. She honestly didn’t expect that he’d be able to hold onto a gift during his quest. Well, maybe he got it on the way back.. Either way, she felt that old feeling of excitement and curiosity as to what it was, a feeling that was almost foreign to her now. She shrugged again, kissing him on the cheek. “On the way back, after we’re done here. Which, I hope, won’t be for a while.”

Drew kissed her after her last sentence and leaned his forehead against hers after he pulled away. “You shouldn’t worry about me. I’m alright. I’m okay, and I’m alive. I’ve just got a couple cuts and bruises. Not anything a normal demigod doesn’t have to deal with,” He replied with a sheepish grin and a small shrug. “But I missed you too. Ask Christopher, I didn’t shut up about you.” He gave a small chuckle and ran a hand through her hair. Gods, he had missed her so much over the past month. “Let’s see what you’re drawing,” he muttered as he glanced down at the picture she had started. “It’s a cool pattern, but I think there’s something better we can do besides being here,” He said with a sly grin just as he picked her up from her legs and held her bridal style.

He didn’t give her time to protest because he was sprinting out the door with his girlfriend. He didn’t stop till they reached their spot at the beach, and when they did, he carefully placed Malia on the ground and slid his guitar next to her. These beach times were one of the things he missed the most about her. He laid down next to her and turned his head so he was facing her. “How has camp been? But most of all, how have you been?”

Malia grinned and giggled, a bit lightheaded at how quickly her mood went from such a low to such a high. She nodded and let the subject drop, trusting him enough to know when he needed medical attention or not. She of all people knew how much it sucked to be stuck in there, anyway. She kept her hands on his shoulders and gave them a gentle squeeze. “Poor Chris..” she muttered, but she didn’t say more for she was distracted by his hand running through her hair. Gods, she missed that feeling so much.. She brought her hand up to hold his and blushed a bit more. When he leaned over to look at her drawing, her face turned even more red. “It’s nothing.. I was just bored and..” Once again she didn’t finish, but simply squeaked as he picked her up.

She didn’t care if her sketchbook was left behind, or that she was still lightheaded, she was too happy to care about anything else. She had been seriously afraid of something bad happening to him; she was naturally worrisome now, and each possible thing that could have happened to him came to her, each idea worse than the last. So now that he was here, practically unscathed compared to what she imagined. She wrapped her arms around his neck and closed her eyes, letting him take her wherever he pleased. She felt the sandy ground underneath her and opened her eyes to smile at him again.

She grabbed his hand and shrugged her shoulders. “Camp has been quiet.. Um, there are some new people, Caine and Emi, but there wasn’t too much activity.. Except, it snowed the other day, which was a bit weird.. And I.. have been really anitsocial.. So if anything else happened, I wouldn’t know..” She bit her lip, knowing he’d probably be concerned over the fact that she had been even less like herself. “Um, how was the quest?” she asked, her smile returning as soon as she looked at him again, as if she was seeing him for the first time all over again.

andrewsyrius:

Drew sighed as he threw his bag on the floor of the Hecate cabin, and onto his bunk. It had been a long month filled with monsters, crazy demigods, and random-ass people he preferred not to meet. He groaned as he threw himself face down on his bed and used his feet to kick the bag onto the floor. He just wanted to stay in this position and sleep for a couple days, never waking up. Though, He knew he had more important business to take care of first. He was almost positive news would have reached Malia that he and his brother had come back. If he didn’t find her first, she was going to find him. He swung his legs around and pulled out his guitar case from underneath the bed. It had been way too long since he had played his guitar. He grabbed the instrument, pulled it onto his back and headed out to the Aphrodite cabin.

He opened the Aphrodite cabin door and poked inside, then to be informed that Malia wasn’t there at the moment. With a nod of thanks toward the young camper, he made his way toward the beach. He had created a mental list of places to find Malia, which consisted of the beach, the art room, or her cabin. Those were the three main places he checked. When she wasn’t at the beach, he made his way to the art room and with a wide, relieved smile he saw the familiar brown-haired girl he loved so much sitting at one of the tables.

“Malia Cashe,” Drew murmured as he threw his arms around her waist and kissed her cheek.  He loved her so much, and had missed her more than he could think bearable. How long had they been dating now? Seven months? Maybe more? He smile grew as he pressed his lips to hers quickly and pulled away. “How are you?” He hoped that he looked at least presentable and didn’t look as if he was hit by a car and left for dead. Yes, he had gotten a bit hurt, but it was nothing to worry about. It’s not anything ambrosia couldn’t fix right up.

The last few days she had tried to be more social, but it quickly turned into spending time with her sisters, not wandering far from the Aphrodite cabin. Which of course she didn’t mind, but all they really talked about were boys. Before, Malia would have welcomed this, happy to talk about simple things like that and have a normal conversation for once. But now all she thought about was Drew when they had these talks, and then she thought about how much she missed him and then she’d want to leave and hide away like she had so much lately..

So she ended up taking a break from her sisters, and went to the art room. She didn’t really have a musing to draw anything, so she just started to draw little circles all over the page until it was filled with a strange polka dotted design. She sighed loudly, putting down her pencil and holding her head up with her slightly smudged hands.

It was then that she heard his voice behind her, and her heart skipped a beat. She straightened up, sure that she had finally lost her mind and was hearing things. But then she felt hands wrap around her waist and a soft, familiar kiss on her cheek, and when she turned she saw him right there in front of her. She heard herself gasp, and then her arms were around him, too. “Drew! Oh my gods, you’re back, I didn’t even know, I-” she was cut off by his kiss, and she felt everything inside of her become more energized, like it had been before. When she pulled away, her eyes were shining- she was on the verge of tears of joy. “I missed you so much.” she said, kissing him again.

When she pulled away she finally saw the cut across his cheek, and realized that he was hurt; maybe not a lot, but still hurt. “Are you okay?” she asked him. “Did you just get here? Did something go wrong on the quest? Do you need to go to the infirmary?” She stopped herself, smiling sheepishly and blushing a bit. “Sorry, I’m just a bit excited.”
